Grants for gardening available through Weld Health
Department
Staff Reports
Gardening may be one of the last things on people's
minds, but organizers of Project GROW want to get
people in the mood.
Gardeners Reaping Opportunities for Wellness, or GROW,
funded through a federal grant, is a community garden
grant project. About 15 grants of $50 to $250 will be
given to individuals, groups or organizations who pick
up an application from the Weld County Department of
Public Health and Environment promotions office.
Applicants will be required to give a brief overview
of the community garden, including who the project
will impact, and how and when the project will be
completed. In addition, applicants must provide a
budget and a specific amount of money needed.
After the applicants have been selected, they will be
required to write a short summary of the successes and
challenges of growing the garden, as well as
submitting pictures of the plants grown.
Community garden grant project
Applications due by 5 p.m., Feb. 26; Grant winners
will be notified by March 10.
