Hello Connie,
This is Leslie Pohl-Kosbau in Portland, Oregon. Glad that you are relocating
to Salem! I also know the minister in Salem, Rev. Rick Davis of the
Unitarian Universalist Congregation in east Salem. They are located in East
Salem, and have some room on their grounds. The two community gardens in
Salem are very much under the "radar". The contacts that I have for these
gardens are:

Subject: [Community_garden] moving to Salem, Oregon
Hello,
I am a master gardener currently with LA County. I will soon be relocating
to Salem, Oregon and would love to hear what is going on in the world of
community gardening in that area. I founded a sustainable agriculture
program called EarthWorks in east LA County, using The Food Project of
Boston as our model. I am an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister and
our UU church in Salem, Oregon has expressed some interest in starting a
community garden on their property in NE Salem. I'm also interested in any
information about the garden I believe is at one of the prisons in town.
Any contacts, thoughts or ideas you care to share with me would be much
appreciated!
