Hi Connie,
Marion-Polk Food Share, the regional food bank in Salem, has quite a few
interesting gardening programs (including, I believe, the one at the
prison you refer to). The garden coordinator is Jordan Blake and he can
be reached at jblake at foodbanksalem.org or 503-581-3855 ext. 302.
Good Luck!

More grows in the garden than was sown there.

Subject: [Community_garden] moving to Salem, Oregon
Hello,
I am a master gardener currently with LA County. I will soon be
relocating
to Salem, Oregon and would love to hear what is going on in the world of
community gardening in that area. I founded a sustainable agriculture
program called EarthWorks in east LA County, using The Food Project of
Boston as our model. I am an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister
and
our UU church in Salem, Oregon has expressed some interest in starting a
community garden on their property in NE Salem. I'm also interested in
any
information about the garden I believe is at one of the prisons in town.
Any contacts, thoughts or ideas you care to share with me would be much
appreciated!
