If we find one in print, please share it here and we can all suggest
improvements I'm sure!
If we don't find one, maybe we can assemble one here, in text form at least.
Here's a few ideas to start -
Plan around the water faucets. Always start there. Allow for an ample
number. Arrange construction to avoid the
faucet-in-the-middle-of-the-path problem. Maybe that means everything
must wait till the plumbing is installed.... then wait. It's worth it.
If you think you might ever want a truckload of soil, compost,
manure... plan for a gate that will allow a truck to enter. If you
don't have a place where a large pile can sit, then you can't have a
large pile delivered. The location must be solid ground and fairly
level to allow dump trucks to operate safely. If the gardeners care
about soil, this matters. Make your own compost, certainly, but you
will never be able to make enough for 40 or 50 beds.
Not every path needs to be wide enough for a wheelbarrow. But every
bed should have one side with a wide-enough path.
