On the contrary, Cordalie! Connecticut was where I first encountered
*Chordeiles minor*, the common nighthawk. It was at a night game for the
New Haven Ravens; once it got truly dark and the lights were aswim in
nocturnal bugs, these amazing little aerial acrobats swooped in and out
of the stadium, uttering tiny, plaintive cries as they scooped up their
dinner. I've also seen them at Shea Stadium (night game). Come to think
of it, I don't think I've ever seen them except at a nighttime sporting
event with lights. Anyway, they do live in New England, but I'm not sure
how you would go about attracting them unless you installed very bright,
athletic field-style lights in the gardens. That could potentially boost
plant growth, but some of the neighbors might complain.

Happy gardening!
