[Community_garden] community gardening in our back yards

Fellow gardeners,

 

I and about 11 others would like to begin a community garden of sorts,
-except that we are planning to garden in our back yards, each planting a
different crop. When the produce ripens we will meet periodically to swap.
We plan on sharing the start up costs, and helping those who may have more
labor intensive crops.  Have any of you heard of such a type of co-operative
gardening?  Is there a name for it?  Does it sound feasible?
