Sacramento has 2 locations going today until 7pm

 

14th and J st  and 20th (LJ Urban sponsored) and K st (david mogavero
van alstine - sponsored)

 

I stopped by this morning, at the LJ Urban site, 14th and J st

Very cool... on whole parking space on J street greened with real sod,
about 8 - 5 gallon trees,

A slider bench swing, table with chess board, 2 shade umbrellas, and
info table

 

You can also see their small electric car, with eco friendly quotes on
it.

 

City of sacramento was supportive and gave them a special one day use
permit for the space.. so they didn't need to pump quarters in the meter
all day

 

Stop by if you have the chance and write down your ideas on why we need
more parks...which can include community gardens!!

 

I dropped off a carrot with a sign that reads  "more community gardens
!"

 

If your park activists did not do a PARKing day event... consider doing
one next year!
