There are at least two dozen city/region/statewide spring community garden
gatherings/conferences across the country -- Boston, Chicago, NYC, Portland,
Ohio, Winnepeg, Denver to name a few.  

In coming years, perhaps a schedule of the events could be compiled and
publicized so that gardeners elsewhere could be encouraged to attend. Maybe
a handbook about how to organize such an event can be developed. 

I am hopeful that the New Orleans (and even other city) communal work
conferences can still happen.
