Anne Raver of the New York Times has done a nice job writing up the home
garden/victory garden revival now under way and my work in that. She also
mentions the online effort KGI has started to turn part of the White House
lawn back into an edible landscape. You can read all about it here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/17/garden/17garden.html
Once you've read the article, please consider sharing it using the Times'
"e-mail a friend" feature and their social networking tools.
It's still a very rare day when the terms "gardening", "peak oil", "local
foods", "White House" and "food pantry" find their way into a NY Times
article, but it shouldn't be. If we can build a little online energy around
the article and its ideas, we may even manage to catch the attention of the
presidential campaigns.
Thanks,
Roger

Our proposal to plant a kitchen garden on the White House Lawn is the most
popular proposal on the progressive brainstorming site OnDayOne.org!
