Yes, thanks for that reminder as I did save seeds from my largest, earliest
ripening pumpkin, as up at 7000 feet that is my first priority. To my
knowledge, there were no other squash of any kind planted with a miles radius to
cross with. The seeds I planted were organic, or ,so they said. Do you think
that they may still produce something different? (I guess I'll know more
this spring when they get planted.) That brings to mind questions about the
bean seeds I saved. ????? (I think I missed the teleconference on seed
saving.) I only experiment with my own, not for resale or any kind of distribution.
I am trying to absorb every thing I can about this subject of seed saving
and for that matter cold cellar storage, so any input on either subject would
be most welcome. I am quickly running out of cool nooks and crannies to
stash them in, and yes, I've learned the hard way, it also brings in the mice! I
have a very old, (circa 1940's) root cellar that I am working on to restore,
and trying to do so without running electricity to. (fan for circulation,
light bulb for heat on the very cold nights) Any ideas there?
Thanks
