Know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of
community gardening, greening, and open spaces in your community? Nominate
them for an ACGA Certificate of Recognition!
The rules are few: 1) no one can be awarded twice, 2) the Community Gardener
of the Year does not have to be a member, but the nominator has to be an
organizational member, and 3) nominators must have permission from the
candidate in order to nominate them.
This is a non-financial award recognizing exceptional work in community
gardening. Recipients will receive a Certificate of Recognition, mention in
our annual Greening Review, a photo and paragraph about their work on our
website, and a free one-year basic membership.
Only 12 awards are presented each year, so please explain why your candidate
is the best candidate for Community Gardener of the Year. You may explain at
whatever length youd like, but we encourage at least 3 paragraphs
describing why your candidate is the most worthy.
To nominate someone for the ACGA Certificate of Recognition, please request
a nominations form from Vicki Garrett, Projects Coordinator at 614-645-1537
or via email at vgarrettacga at gmail.com. A current ACGA organizational member
must make all nominations. Completed applications must be received by ACGA
at 1777 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43203 by June 1, 2008.
Sincerely,
