So, does anyone have experience with a collaborative effort to help fund home gardeners through an education-linked cooperative voucher system...the idea I have is this:

I work for a small community hospital here in Central Oregon, high desert country.  We have started and or supported 3 community gardens in the area, but sustaining community involvement continues to be a challenge.  Many low income residents of our area have a bit of property, and might garden if cost and knowledge barriers were reduced.  Has anyone ever worked with Extension/Master Gardeners to give food growing, harvesting, preparation, and preservation classes, which are incentivised by vouchers for local garden centers for seeds, soil amendments, grow covers, and the like.  Our nonprofit could provide the vouchers, class coordination and promotion, and sponsorship.  Thanks for any perspective you might have.  Beth Ann Beamer, Madras, OR.
