First Delivery? The Good Soil for Good Food
Project<http://www.milwaukeerenaissance.com/NewOrleansRenaissancePartnerships/GoodSoilForGoodFoodProject>

In its first Good Soil for Good Food
Project<http://www.milwaukeerenaissance.com/NewOrleansRenaissancePartnerships/GoodSoilForGoodFoodProject>,
the Community Growers hope to provide October and January deliveries of
Growing Power black gold and red wrigglers to community garden and backyard
family farm projects in the emerging good food neighborhoods of New Orleans,
starting with the 9th, the Algiers, and the Hollybrooke communities.

Community Growers will provide a pick up truck, trailer, and driver to carry
Will Allen's Growing Power "black gold" and red wrigglers to community
gardeners participating in this first delivery. It is hoped that investors,
sponsors, and co-op partners will pay for the black gold, red wrigglers, and
installation materials.

In future deliveries, raised bed and rooftop garden materials and equipment
will be part of the cargo going from the Great Lakes to New Orleans. Who
knows what the return cargo will contain.

Will Allen has a vision of a Growing Power Bus that would bring not just
cargoes of soil potency and good food growing methods, including fish
farming, but also urban farming interns, apprentices, and journeymon
workers.

If you would like to brainstorm this concept as part of the Great Lakes
Delta Partnerships over the next 37 years, please send an e-mail to
godsil.james at gmail.com.
Will Michelle Obama Be to Good Food Neighborhoods What Eleanor Roosevelt Was
to Worker and Civil Rights?

It is very easy to imagine Michelle Obama making good food neighborhoods one
of her public causes over the years! Perhaps she will christen the
Mississippi River Worm Barge that conveys good soil, worms and other soil
partners, and river/urban farming ecology lessons up and down the mighty
Mississippi over the decades!
