I was very impressed to read the ad by who is offering her 4 acres of private land for a community garden that can be used to feed those in need. I wish we had such an offer here on Oahu. I am Executive Director of LEAF Project in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is our vision to help solve hunger and poverty by connecting at-risk populations to the soil through community and backyard gardening and farming. My question to the incredible people who belong to this blog is this: First of all, please visit our website at www.leafhawaii.org to learn who we are. Last year we were in our organizational development stage and now we are ready to embark upon our first Community garden, or urban farm pilot project. The biggest challenge is getting the land to do this. If anyone has any suggestions what we can do to acquire vacant land for our pilot project, it would be most humbly appreciated. Thank you very much.
