Hi, Folks!
If you can't get compost, it's time to start making your own. I wouldn't
use biosolids for food crops because there are still way too many people
that pour stuff down the drain that they shouldn't. There may be some
communities where folks are consciousness, but I live in PA and we are
suspicious and sneaky by nature (;-)). I'd also want to see a full heavy
metal panel before even considering accepting a load -- and I'd want to know
that that load had been tested.
The pet food recall (1 year ago Saturday!) taught us all that it's what you
don't know what there -- and therefore, what to test for, that can kill your
pet -- or maybe you.
It's just not that hard to compost on-site and/or do vermiculture (worm bin)
at home. Know what you're putting into your soil just like you know what
you're putting into your mouth to eat.
